About Checkpoint Brief
Last updated
Checkpoint Brief answers the practical questions players ask before a game comes out or goes free: when exactly, on what, for how much, and what's actually been confirmed. Every fact links to where it came from, and every page shows when it was last checked.
Why this site exists
Big releases attract a lot of noise. Leaks, guesses and recycled rumors get repeated until they look like facts, and it's hard to tell what the publisher actually said. Checkpoint Brief separates the two: confirmed facts go in one place with their sources, rumors are labeled as rumors, and dates are only listed when they're real dates.
What you'll find here
- The GTA 6 hub: release date, price, editions, platforms, map and timeline, each with a source.
- A release calendar of upcoming games with exact dates, filterable by platform.
- A free games tracker for the Epic Games Store, refreshed every day.
- Guides that explain things in more depth: editions, pre-loading, storage, accounts.
Who runs it
Checkpoint Brief is built and written by Eren Şimşir, a software engineer. It's an independent site with no affiliation to Rockstar Games, Take-Two Interactive, Epic Games or any other publisher, and no publisher pays for coverage.
How it's funded
The site is free to read. It may show advertising to cover hosting and development; advertisers have no influence over what we publish. See the editorial policy.
